Psalm 149:3 inspires us to praise God’s Name with dance and song. That is, the Psalmist is asking you and me to praise God through dance and song.
This is because dance and song can be your language of praise. The expression of your appreciation towards God. And the language that God responds to.
Psalm 22:3b reveals that God is “enthroned on the praises of Israel.” That is that God inhabits the praises of His people. Or that God dwells in the praises of His people.
Whenever we give praise to God, we experience His presence. He completely fills our expression of worship to Him. God responds in a special way when He is lifted up and glorified.
This is the power of praise. Praise is part of a spiritual transaction.
Therefore, when praise goes up, God via his Spirit comes down and “takes up residence” in the hearts, minds, and the physical space of your worshipping.
The beauty of dance and song is that they can be unique to you. You can therefore dance (move) in your style. And you can sing in your own way.
Dance and song are your physical offering to God for His love towards you. I, therefore, urge you to praise God with song and dance, especially that today is the eve of Christmas.
