”His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Resources for a Godly Life
God’s divine power has provided you with all resources for a godly life (2 Peter 1:3). That is, you have everything you need to live a godly lifestyle (1 Corinthians 2:9 and 2 Corinthians 9:8).
These resources are availed through Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:21) and they are accessed through the knowledge of God (Matthew 7:21). Meaning, as you continue to grow in the knowledge of God, you will access more of His provision (sufficiency).
To grow in the knowledge of God is to grow in intimacy with Him through Christ. And the way to achieve this is through His Word.
In addition, these resources are also sufficient. However, some Christians/believers often think that God hasn’t provided enough. They think that God may have given the grace for justification, but not sufficient for sanctification, or vice versa.
Others think they have received enough grace for justification and sanctification, but not enough for glorification. Therefore, they live in constant fear that they may lose their salvation. And even if they believe that there is enough grace for final worship, some still feel there is not enough grace for them to handle the trials of life.
Prayer
Father in Heaven, I thank you for providing everything that I need to live a godly lifestyle. I pray that you help me grow in intimacy with you. I pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
