Abraham was now very old, and the Lord had blessed him in every way.

Genesis 24:1 Devotional (Daily Bible Verse)

The Lord blesses in every way

Genesis 24:1, which I have themed “The Lord blesses in every way“, is Moses’ testimony of what God had done in Abraham’s life. Of course, in this verse, Moses introduced the subject of God’s blessings in Abraham’s life so that he could narrate how the same provided a wife for his son Isaac using the same.

Therefore, the Lord blessed Abraham in all things. And based on these blessings, Abraham considered how God would continue his Covenant with him through Isaac.

God is a blesser

God is a Blesser. He is, therefore, able to bless you in every way. And this is not based on anything that you do or will do.

Remember, God is a giver. This is why He will bless you in all things.

God is faithful

Furthermore, God is absolutely faithful. You can, therefore, trust Him to bless you in every way.

God’s blessings bestow the responsibility of stewardship

When the Lord blesses you, you will have a responsibility regarding the same. And it will be the responsibility of stewardship.

You will have to follow the example of Abraham, who used God’s blessings to ensure the continuity of His Covenant. Therefore, you will have to use God’s blessings to advance the agenda of His kingdom, according to your kingdom mandate, as revealed by Him to you (Matthew 16:24-25, 27).

To whom much is given, much will be required

Jesus, in Luke 12:48, declared: “To whom much is given, much will be required”. God will hold you responsible for what He has blessed you with. This is because everyone has been given much (1 Corinthians 4:7 and 1 Peter 4:10), plainly shown what is required (Micah 6:8, Matthew 10:8, and Romans 12:6-8), and usage will be the basis of God’s reward (Matthew 16:24-25, 27).

Prayer/Blessing

Lord God, thank You very much for Your blessings in my life. Please help me to use Your blessings in my life to advance Your kingdom and its agenda.

I also pray that You help me to be a blessing to my children and others. For this is my humble prayer in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
