So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10New International Version (NIV)

Isaiah 41:10 Devotional (Daily Bible Verse)

Do not fear

Isaiah 41:10, which I have themed “Do not fear“, is a verse in which God told Israel not to fear men. And God also promised to help and strengthen Israel.

Moreover, in Isaiah 41:10-20, God sought to silence the fears and encourage the faith of Israel. Because Israel is the people that God chose and revealed Himself to and also gave the promise of His blessings.

Therefore, God promised to bless anyone who blessed Israel and curse anyone who cursed them. And this is because Israel is a special people that God chose to use to bless all the families of the earth (Genesis 12:1-3).

Consequently, God’s words to Israel, as captured in Isaiah chapter 41 verse 10, were an expression of His commitment to them. And this is because God had entered into a covenant relationship with them (Isaiah 41:8-20) and He had a clear purpose with and for them in the world.

Israel did not need to fear

Israel, therefore, did not need to fear anyone or any nation that wanted to go against them. This is because God had promised to be with them, and He was committed to upholding the same. And they, therefore, didn’t need to look beyond God for their safety (Isaiah 41:5-6) and well-being.

Furthermore, God had promised to help them in every way (Isaiah 41:10-11).

Grafted into Israel, thus, a joint heir with them

When you get (got) born again, you are (were) grafted into Israel and become (became) joint heir to the promises that God made to Abraham (Romans 11:11-24). And therefore, when your situation becomes threatening and makes you develop the fear, then you can also bank on God’s help and strength.

Consequently, God’s words in Isaiah 41:10 are meant to silence your fears and encourage your faith. And after all, your fear which opposes your faith is not from God, as 2 Timothy 1:7 states.

But in every threatening situation, God is committed to helping and strengthening you.

Prayer/Blessing

Father in Heaven, thank You for Your words of encouragement. I surrender my fearfulness and fears to You, for I know You are with me. And I, therefore, trust that You will help and strengthen me when I need Your help and strength.

Therefore, I will not fear anyone or anything. And this is my humble prayer in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
