Isaiah 41:13 Devotional (Daily Bible Verse)
Do not fear; I will help you
Isaiah 41:13 declares that “The Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you ‘Do not fear; I will help you‘”. And “Do not fear” is an encouragement that God seems to command us in a lot of places in the Bible.
Nevertheless, Isaiah 41:10-20 was meant to be an encouragement to the people of Israel. Because God had already pronounced judgment upon them.
Therefore, in verses 8 to 13, God spoke to Isaiah in a vision about the Israelites. He reminded His people that, no matter what, He had promised that He would be with them and take care of them by providing His Spirit.
Furthermore, verse 13 is specifically a promise that “God would take them by the hand” as their guide, to lead them in their way, and help them up when they fell. And as God held their hand, He would prevent their falls and hold them up when they were weak.
Consequently, God would restore them and keep them from wavering. And this is what God will do to you. He will direct you in the way that you should go.
Do not fear
Additionally, Isaiah promised the Judahites that God would say to them “Do not fear” because “He would help them”. And 1 John 4:18 says that “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear”.
Therefore, you need not fear anything because God will help you. He is your help when you are in need of help.
Consequently, it seems pretty clear that when you are in tune with God, you won’t be afraid of anything. You will walk the path that God leads you to walk victoriously.
Prayer/Blessing
Lord God, thank You for holding my right hand. And thank You for commanding me not to fear because You will help me.
I fully surrender myself to Your leading. This is my humble thanksgiving and prayer in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
