”I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Psalm 27:13New International Version (NIV)
Psalm 27:13 Devotional
You will see the goodness of the Lord
In Psalm 27:13, the Psalmist declares that “you will see the goodness of the Lord“. Meaning that you can hope to see the goodness of the Lord where you are right now.
Therefore, hope in seeing the goodness of the Lord, to begin with, is historical. And this is so because we have experienced the Lord’s goodness through His light and salvation in the past.
Consequently, hope in seeing the Lord’s goodness is also futuristic. We can rest in the confidence of knowing that God will lead us and protect us in the days to come. So, don’t give up your confidence and your trust in God.
Stand firm and secure in your faith in Him, knowing that He will come through for you. You will definitely see His goodness in your lifetime. Don’t be in a hurry and don’t be impatient, He will do you good.
God is good
Actually, the only reason you have hope is due to the fact that God is good. If God was not a good God, there would be no rational reason for hope. And hope is one of three things that abide (1 Corinthians 13:13).
Also, don’t forget that God has only good plans for your life. He does not have bad plans for you—he never has and he never will.
Moreover, the more you understand God’s goodness, the more hopeful you’re going to be. Because this is what the life of faith is all about.
But you, like many people, may miss God’s plan for your life if you don’t trust God. Therefore, don’t follow your own plan, which will lead to hopelessness and pessimism in the long run. But just put your full trust in God.
Prayer/Blessing
Today, as you begin this #NewMonth of February, may you hope in the goodness of God. May you wait on Him till you experience your deliverance. While waiting on the Lord is very demanding, it is what you and I are supposed to do. Amen.
