Clap your hands and Shout to God
Psalm 47:1 says that it is very much appropriate to clap and shout to God for His awesomeness and greatness. Actually, the Psalm that houses this verse is a hymn that celebrates God’s reign as king over the earth.
Without a doubt, there are great things that God has done for you. And it is therefore no wonder that this verse is summoning you to praise God.
Moreso, the psalmist realized all that God had done for him. And he was motivated to shout to God in praise. For his heart was filled with gratitude.
Besides, this is a great psalm celebrating the great victory of a great king. Perhaps it was one of the Israelite kings. But whichever the case, it prophetically points to the ascension of the Messiah to His throne. Thus, it celebrates His reign over the whole earth.
Modern-day sophistication and safety in our fellowships are the enemies of the attitude and act of singing and praising God. Therefore, clap to, sing to, and praise God for who He is in all creation and in your life.
Prayer/Blessing
Lord, I desire to be Your fully committed follower. Help me maintain a committed fellowship with You always. I pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
May your praises rise in clapping and shouting. Amen.
