”Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.

Psalm 63:3 Devotional
Your love is better than life
God’s love is better than life (Psalm 63:3) when you recognize that life is worthless without it. That life is meaningful when you are under God’s amazing love.
And this is David’s message of truth to his audience. Writing from the wilderness of Judah, he highlights the truth that life gains worth/meaning in the context of God’s love.
David gained a powerful sense of perspective of God’s love while in his wilderness season. He realized that what he needed more than anything else was a relationship with God. That while his options concerning safety and sustenance were pretty limited, God satisfied more than the richest feast (v. 5) and he glorified God.
Despite being in the wilderness of Judah, David penned this wonderful truth for you and me. That God’s eternal love is amazing. It is all we need in all seasons.
So, when you get to that season when your physical circumstances are screaming “scarcity or lack”, remember God will be with you. His nature is constant despite the changing seasons of the world we live in.
That’s why David recognized God’s amazing loving nature even when he had reason to be discouraged. This is a great reminder to you and me that God is forever loving, and definitely worthy of glory even when the world around us suffers through the chaos.
Therefore, the many dimensions of God’s love (Ephesians 1:5-6, Isaiah 43:6-7, Luke 2:10-14, 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, Psalm 79:9, Ephesians 2:4-7 and John 17:24) and effect in our lives, are fertile grounds for glorifying Him. And God is glorified in your speech, actions (1 Corinthians 10:31), and thoughts – by loving, trusting, obeying, knowing, thanking, and witnessing Him.
Prayer/Blessing
Lord, I praise you for Your amazing love. I thank You in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Go ahead and glorify God for His love in your life. Amen.
