You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.

Psalm 66:12 Devotional

God will get you through it to your abundance

Psalm 66:12 reveals that “God will get you through it to your abundance”. That is, God will get you through trial, affliction, persecution, and suffering to a place of abundance.

Remember, the account recorded in Genesis 1 and 2 makes it clear that God planned for humanity to enjoy creation’s beauty, abundance, and fruitfulness. He blessed man, who are His images, to enjoy His creation (Genesis 1:28).

It is therefore clear that God is a blesser. His plan has always been to bless men. And no wonder Jeremiah (29:11) prophesied that “God had plans to prosper, and give His people hope and a future”.

But sometimes you can be filled with such depression and despair that you don’t see the truth of God’s promises reigning in your life. But no matter how you may sometimes feel, you need to remember the fact that God will always keep his promises. Your situation does not have the final say on your destiny.

So, whether you are going through one extreme in the form of a person lording it over you, another extreme in the form of a fire, or even another extreme in the form of a flood, God will get you through it (Job 42:10-17). He will then take you and plant you in the place of His choosing, which will be the place of abundance.

You only need to make Him your refuge (Psalm 91:9-12) and He will watch over you (Psalm 121:8) and direct your way (Proverbs 20:24).

Prayer/Blessing

Lord, You are my refuge and fortress. Even though I am broken right now, I choose to stand strong in Your promise. I am comforted that You will get me through my present challenge.

So I commit myself to Your faithfulness. I am assured that You will get me to my abundance.

There’s nothing too hard for You. It’s my belief that You will work wonders in my life.

I pray and receive Your promise in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

May you fully surrender to God so that He can get you to your place of abundance. Amen.
