The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master

Genesis 39:2New International Version (NIV)

Genesis 39:2 Devotional

The Lord is with You

“The Lord is with you”, drawn from Genesis 39:2, is a verse that reveals God as the Prosperor. That is, the Lord is the One that causes men to succeed. This is the primary benefit of the Lord being with you.

God has assured us of His everlasting presence in His Word. He promised to be with you forever (Matthew 28:20). And this promise applies to all situations you may find yourself in, including the difficult ones like COVID-19 (Isaiah 43:2).

When God is with you, in a special way like He was with Joseph in Genesis 39:2, then success is guaranteed. The fact is, God was with Joseph in a more-than-omnipresent way. And this is the presence that I want you to desire for yourself.

It is God’s special presence that will enable you to enjoy everything He has to offer to you. For He is the source of all.

His special presence will position you to attract/receive favour and elevation/promotion from the people in your life and marketplace. This is a secondary benefit of God’s presence. And not only this, God will bless the space of your life and operations. That is, your house and your field become blessed for your sake.

Therefore, all you need is for God to be with you in an intimate way, and you will be prosperous/successful. You will also receive favour from the people around you. For prosperity and the consequent favour and blessings, begins with and ends with God.

Prayer/Blessing

Lord, thank You for being with me in an omnipresent way. How I desire that You be with me in an intimate/special way that you were with Joseph.

I, therefore, resolve to rest in your presence forever. Guide me and lead me as you did with Joseph. Amen.
