”Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.
Psalm 73:23New International Version (NIV)
Psalm 73:23 Devotional
I am with You
I am with you (Psalm 73:23) is a statement confirming the fact that God continually holds you by your right hand. And it can also be “I am with God” always.
Therefore, when fear and anxiety creep into your mind, stop and remind yourself that God is with you continually. In fact, not one moment goes by where God isn’t by your side. And when God is at your side, He is there holding your hand. After all, He is your Father.
Additionally, God actually created you for a relationship (friendship or companionship) with Him. God has everything you need to be complete. That’s why Asaph’s relationship with God was so precious to him. Everything that he was was courtesy of God.
He, therefore, appreciated God’s Fatherly love and role in his life. This is what made him count his blessings.
Of course, the most obvious is that God never forsook him. And He still promises to never forsake you and me too (Hebrews 13:5).
Consequently, when you appreciate and testify that God holds your right hand, you will point to your relationship with Him. The existing connection between the two of you (for holding hands is a physical picture of your companionship).
In addition, when you will be tempted to struggle with loneliness, you will remind yourself that God is your eternal company. He keeps you from wandering or falling.
Prayer/Blessing
Lord, I thank You for being my company and holding me by my right hand. For sure I never walk alone. And I am not forsaken.
I, therefore, thank You for Your presence in my life in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
